WHY SO MUCH MONEY TO CHANGE OUR CULTURE?

The casual observer of current events has to wonder – why is so much money, talent, emotion and organization being devoted to all of the efforts and initiatives to force this country into extreme change?

Recently, I heard that over 1600 full-time lobbyists work in D.C. for environmental and global warming activism alone. That is 4 lobbyists to every Congressperson!! Who is funding all of this effort to destroy private industry, capitalism and the traditional American way of life? It is easy to find leftist-minded academics as they go through college to do this kind of work. But who is paying for it all? It is expensive to live in and around D.C. It is costly to buy all of the lunches, dinners, golf outings, trips and travel that is poured on top of the Congress to gain their favor. It is expensive to conduct the media onslaught that we have witnessed over the past 15 years aimed at convincing the American public that their way of life is evil and needs to change. Change for what? Who will benefit?

Change in the USA has occurred continuously over the past 40 years as we implemented well-meaning environmental laws to improve our water, air and consumer protection. Now, the drive to go further to extreme ends does not help the public, it demeans or destroys our society while others like China and India do nothing remotely close to what we have already achieved. So, again, who will benefit from our demise at our own hands?

To watch news media and activists today one would think that we are choking on our decadent lifestyle. It simply is not true. Go outside – is your air clean enough for you to breathe without coughing? Activists would have us believe in an alternative universe that does not exist because we are blindly surrendering to their pleas that sound so good, so important, so well-deserving!! The truth is what? Who is paying for them to preach to us like this? They have to pay rent, buy food and gas, purchase clothes, buy car insurance just like all of us. So, who is funding them and this all-out attack on our society?

Do we deduce that all of this activism is well-meaning and deserved? Or is it out of control because people that can’t find a way to make a living in the “real world” find it easy to succeed in the hyper-activist culture that constantly drives people to seek fame, fortune and praise as they attempt to outdo the past success of their causes? When have they reached their goals? It appears that they never will reach a goal because their goals are to continue to create a public need for more emotion-based change whether or not it makes any sense, whether or not it helps our society, basically to become important and to command the control of our society.

That sounds a lot like totalitarianism. It does not sound like the America we inherited based upon rugged individualism and personal responsibility. It sounds like the goal is really to change the structure of our society, not provide a better life for us. It seems like stealthy efforts to gain control of this country from within through public surrender of our will, our responsibility, our freedoms and our way of life.

So, who is funding this? Who will benefit? What is the real goal(s)? Why do we have to give up our way of life? Are you awake, or are you giving up and giving in? Follow the money – if we can find the trail. Even D.C. activists care about their checkbook balance.
